QuietFloor Plus soundproofing for floors

  When laid over timber floors airborne insulation up to 51dB can be expected.
  When laid over timber floors impact insulation in the order of 39dB or less can be expected.

  (A carpet will reduce this even further).

  When bonded over concrete floors impact improvements in the order of 42dB or less can be expected.

 

This is an easily installed superb and improved soundproofing system designed to soundproof a floor by reducing both the impact and airborne noise transfer through floors. The laminated composition provides maximum sound loss performance for minimum thickness and combines excellent sound insulation with all the qualities of a good carpet underlay. It is quick and easy to install and is easily cut and shaped. Overall thickness is just 15mm so it minimises the increase in floor level.

Although QuietFloor Plus was originally designed for use beneath carpets to reduce noise transfer through floors, it has now been used by many customers as the soundproofing layer beneath both laminate and engineered timber floors.  QuietFloor Plus can now be used to help compensate when switching from carpeted floors to bare wood floors.


This product comprises an 8mm layer of impact sound absorbing chipfoam sandwiched between mineral loaded sound barrier layers of 7.5kg each. The base layer of barrier mat seals and damps the sound coming through the floor and the combined mass of both the bottom layer and isolated top layer of sound barrier mat reduces penetration of noise both ways and the sound absorbing resilient chipfoam core dramatically reduces any impact noise transfer.

 

QuietFloor PLUS can be bonded to concrete floors to meet the new Approved Document E Building Regulations for impact noise.
